Using a Payment Processor Hosted Checkout Form

The typical workflow for processing payments through the Client Center when integrated with a payment gateway is that the contact fills out the payment form within the Client Center (using either a saved payment method or by entering a new one), and submits the form.

There is an option, however, to use a Payment Processor Hosted Checkout form, which means that when a contact goes to make a payment in the Client Center, they will be redirected to the payment processor's form, to fill out their payment information directly in the processor, rather than using the Ad Orbit form. When they make the payment, they will be redirected back to their Client Center account.

The Payment Processor Hosted Form is especially helpful if you are using Stripe for international payments, as Ad Orbit does not support 3DS, which can be required for international payments.

Note

Payment Processor Hosted Forms are currently only supported for the Stripe gateway, and are only available within the Client Center.

  • To turn on the feature, make sure you have Stripe set up as your payment gateway. See the Stripe Setup help center document for more information about this process.

  • Next, go to Settings > System Configurations to set your Public Payment Workflow system configuration to 'Payment Processor Hosted Form', and save the changes.

  • When set up, when a contact makes a payment within the Client Center, they will use the hosted checkout form, rather than the default Ad Orbit form.

    • This is supported whether the contact is logged in or not, and applies to all payments made within the Client Center, including invoices, and pre-paid orders.

  • On the payment page, the contact will click 'Pay Invoice Now'.

  • This will redirect them to the gateway's checkout form, where they can fill out all of the required fields necessary to submit their payment. They will click 'Pay' when they are finished filling out the form.

  • They will be automatically redirected back to the Client Center, where they will see a confirmation message for their payment.

  • For comparison, here is what the default Ad Orbit payment form within the Client Center looks like.

  • Within Ad Orbit, the memo for payments made using the hosted form will reference that the payment was made with 'Stripe external checkout'. It will also contain information about the payment including Transaction ID and Code, as well as the Authorization Code so the payment record can easily be matched between Ad Orbit and the gateway.
