Material XREF
A dedicated Material XREF field is available on print ad tickets, giving your team direct control over XREF values without leaving the ticket.
If you wish to enable this feature, please reach out to our support team. We must set the initial Material XREF Counter value. Once set, you will see the Material XREF field throughout Ad Orbit, and the values will start at the specified Counter value.
Specifically on Print Ad Tickets, the Material XREF can be set in the Edit Ticket popup. Here, you can manually enter a Material XREF number, or click Generate (+) to auto-assign the next available sequential number.
Once set, the field will appear inline on the ticket page, near the Rate Card section.
The field is editable at any time during the ticket lifecycle.
The value will be overwritten when a new XRef is generated or when an asset is pulled from a related ticket.
Asset Pickup
When your team picks up an asset from a related ticket, the Material XREF number will carry forward automatically — reducing manual entry and keeping XREF values consistent across related work.
When the “Use Asset from a Related Ticket” action is used, the related ticket dropdown will display the Material XREF number alongside each available issue (e.g., “September 2025 — XRef: 2000042”).
This makes it easy to confirm which asset you’re selecting before proceeding
Once a related ticket asset is selected, its XREF number automatically overwrites the XREF field on the current ticket.
If you switch your selection (e.g., from the September to the July issue), the XREF field updates to reflect the newly selected issue.
The most recently applied value will always be used — whether from a pickup, manual entry, or auto-generation.
The Material XREF is available on the Consolidated Production Report, making it easier to track and share XREF numbers across your team.
On the Consolidated Production Report, there is a Material XREF search filter. Enter any Material XRef number to filter results to only the tickets and assets associated with that number
This will find both the original item and any associated pickups.
There is also a display field that can be selected to show in the report results. This displays the XREF number for every record when applicable.
Values are copyable directly from the table for easy sharing.
