Cash Receipts Journal
This report shows all your cash receipts entered in the system, via auto pays or manual entries. The journal allows you to find a specific transaction or view all, based on your report selections. This report will give you a quick snapshot of what transacted on a particular date and can be used for projections. To use this report, navigate to Reports > All Reports – Finance, or use the global search bar. If this is a report that you plan to use frequently, mark it as a favorite and add it to your Quick Links.
To access this report, you need the User Permission 'Cash Receipts Journal'.
The basic search filters include the Company Name, Amount, Invoice #, Payment Dates & Reps. By using the Advanced Search, you can filter by additional fields such as: Issue Dates, Transaction ID, Payment Method, Invoice Dates, and Publisher, just to name a few.
Show Daily Cash: When checked, this search option will generate a clickable popup for the report that breaks down the transactions into daily buckets. Once the report is run, you can click on the button ‘Show Daily Cash’ at the top of the table. The popup will open that shows total payments based on date and payment method. The popup can be exported.
Aggregate by Transaction: This option gives you control over how certain records are displayed. If for instance, you had a customer pay off two different invoices with the same check, those items by default would be shown as two individual records on this report; one for each invoice. If you check the ‘aggregate by transaction’ option, then those records would get consolidated into one, since they have the same transaction ID.
Your generated report will be sorted by date, transaction ID and company. It will show the results for the searchable fields and any specific data collected within the system. The records will be grouped by day by default. Underneath each day, you will see the total amount for that day.
